How does Hi-Def Vaser Liposuction work?
During a vaser liposuction procedure, the area to be treated is first treated with a tumescent wetting solution through tiny incisions. After skin protectors are placed the small Vaser probe is carefully inserted and the ultrasound energy is applied which disrupts fat cells and liquefies the fat, allowing for the fatty fluid to be easily aspirated with gentle liposuction. The Vaser probe can selectively destroy fat attached to the overlying skin and allows for precise contouring giving you the smooth defined results that Hi-def Vaser liposuction is known for.
How many treatments will I need?
VASERlipo is a one-time treatment. Most patients notice the difference immediately, but the skin needs time to tighten, so the final result can take 4-6 months.
Which areas can the VASERlipo procedure treat?
VASERlipo also known as Vaser liposuction can be used on a variety of treatment areas, including: Abdomen, flanks, waist, hips, back, thighs, arms, as well as lower face, jowls, and neck.
How much fat can be taken in one procedure?
Vaser liposuction can be used to treat multiple areas at once. There are general safety guidelines, but your surgeon will determine the amount that is safe to remove and the amount necessary to achieve the results desired.

Since fat cells don’t regenerate, as long as you maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle, your Vaser liposuction results should be semi-permanent if not permanent!
Does the VASERlipo procedure do more than just remove fat? Can it sculpt a six-pack?
Yes, this technique is known as VASER HiDef® — This is an advanced technique where VASER technology is used to specifically etch out muscle contours to accentuate muscular borders. This results in a chiseled athletic look that some patients have difficulty achieving on their own.
What will I look like immediately after the procedure?
Immediately after a Vaser liposuction procedure you can expect to be a little swollen and perhaps a little bruised. Most of the swelling and bruising will subside after 1-2 weeks. Some of your results will be noticeable immediately, but your final results including skin tightening, smoothness, and resolution of all swelling may take up to 6 months to fully occur.
Can I go right back to work?
Although VASERlipo (Vaser liposuction) is a minimally invasive procedure, it is not a lunchtime procedure. It is considered a surgical procedure and general anesthesia is recommended at our practice. Most patients will require at least 1-2 days of rest before returning to work depending on the number of areas treated. Physical activity like exercise may have to wait 2-3 weeks.
Is the VASERlipo procedure performed in your office?
VASERlipo (Vaser liposuction) can be performed in-office under local anesthesia or in a surgery center/hospital under general anesthesia, depending on the extent of the procedure and the number of areas treated. You and your physician must decide what is best to ensure proper safety and results.

What will happen to future weight gain or fat migrating to other areas?
Fat cells do not regenerate. The fat cells that are destroyed and removed are gone for good. As long as you maintain a healthy lifestyle and proper diet and exercise, your results should be permanent. However, If you experience weight gain or loss after your VASERlipo (Vaser liposuction) procedure, it will tend to be distributed proportionally all over your entire body. Fat does not travel or migrate. Also fat is necessary to a healthy body, some essential fat layers in any given area are necessary for normal health. Although they are fewer, the fat cells remaining still have capacity to store fat if you gain weight. Normal aging changes to skin and fat can also be expected over time.
Is Hi-Def Vaser-Lipo safe?
VASERlipo (Vaser liposuction) has been used safely for many years by doctors across the world. VASERlipo uses aggressive technique, there is typically less bruising, less trauma and a faster recovery time for patients than with traditional lipoplasty. However it is a surgical procedure and all surgical procedures come with a certain amount of risks including bleeding, infection, and injury to adjacent structures. Thankfully these complications are exceedingly rare, especially when Vaser liposuction is performed by an experienced surgeon in a proper facility.
